MLB Labor Dispute Update, Joe Davis Interview (Sports Talk Chicago / WCKG 5-29-20)

Jon Zaghloul

On today’s show, I break down the latest update in the MLB labor dispute, including the recent economic proposal brought forth by the owners. The current plan sees top earners taking pay cuts in excess of sixty percent, in some cases, making it virtually impossible for players to agree to this deal. I also catch up with Joe Davis, TV voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and national broadcaster for FOX Sports. We discuss the launch of his new podcast with Orel Hershiser, and the inspiration behind their excellent in-game dynamic. Joe also gave his thoughts on the labor dispute, and weighed the possibility of not having a 2020 season. Later in the show, Joe recaps the Dodgers’ blockbuster trade for Mookie Betts, reflects on his amazing broadcasting career, recounts his time at Beloit College as the football team’s starting quarterback, and shares his proudest grilling achievement during the quarantine!
