New NBA Season Details, Ryan Dempster Interview (Sports Talk Chicago / WCKG 6-2-20)

Jon Zaghloul

On today’s show, I examine new details about the NBA’s path to resumption, including their plan for the end of the season. The logical solution is to either take the top sixteen teams already in, or have a play-in tournament, similar to the NHL. The association, should not, however, force teams to play meaningless basketball games down the stretch. I also catch up with Ryan Dempster, former MLB All-Star pitcher, MLB Network analyst, and host of Off the Mound on Marquee Sports Network. We discussed baseball’s current labor dispute, and how detrimental not having a season would be to the sport. We also talked about the Cubs’ expectations in 2020, and their playoff hopes under first-year manager David Ross. Later in the show, Ryan shares the story behind his transition from the bullpen to the starting rotation, and recounts the time he intentionally hit Alex Rodriguez!
